A Comparative Analysis

The COVID-19 pandemic has had different impacts in different regions of the world. Your challenge is to perform a comparative analysis of the pandemic’s economic impacts in urban areas for the USA, Asia, and Europe using the EO Dashboard.

Excess of NO2 and CO2 : A slow but inevitable demise of the ecosystem.

Summary

Our project comprises of the comparative analysis of the expanding amount of NO2 and CO2 (which we chose as the two GLOBAL PROXIES) across USA and EUROPE. As per as current records and observations by the EARTH OBSERVATION SATELLITE we found out that there is a considerable rise in the graph of NO2 and CO2 concentration in the countries of Europe and USA due to the high emission of NO2 and CO2 in the atmosphere. We found that BELGIUM has the most concentration of NO2 and C02 followed by GERMANY, ITALY, etc as compared to other countries of the world. At last we may conclude by saying that in this pandemic situation the levels of this gases has been reduced due to their less emission.

How I Addressed This Challenge

We developed a comparative analysis on the amount of CO2 (CARBON DIOXIDE) and NO2 (NITROGEN DIOXIDE)in the atmosphere . It tells us the concentration of the above gases in different regions. Also we have provided a solution for which encountering all the gases from the atmosphere will be easier, if the true potential of our project is analyzed and worked accordingly.

CO2 (CARBON DIOXIDE) and NO2 (NITROGEN DIOXIDE) both being greenhouse gases trap the sun's heat and make it difficult to escape from the EARTH'S atmosphere thus causing a steady rise in temperature (GLOBAL WARMING) which is one of the most alarming problems in the present world thus a comparative analysis of the problem is very important.

It gives us an idea of concentration of the gases at different places, their harmful effects on our health as well as the environment, and a few ways in which we will be able to control and fight back against this problem.

We hope to bring awareness about this serious concern and derive solutions to counter it.

How I Developed This Project

The main inspiration of our team was that we wanted to help people living in different parts of the world from the COVID 19 pandemic situation by helping them with our data that we collected from the EO DASHBOARD HACKATHON RESOURCES PAGE.

First of all we analyzed all the data given in the EO dashboard which involved the maps and the information provided in the resource section. We then analyzed the data and then looked up different sources which included GOOGLE websites and a few books. We tried to present the information in a simple yet effective way looking out to the masses and raise awareness about CO2 and NO2 pollution. We also gave a solution for which encountering all the gases from the atmosphere will be easier, if the true potential of our project is analyzed and worked accordingly.

We have used software namely the site of EO Dashboard Hackathon resources page where we have downloaded the data from the Earth Observation Satellite and we have also used softwares like EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT to integrate our data for making the graphs and to do other comparative studies related to do this project.

Actually to be honest, our team has faced no problems in doing this challenge. Our TEAM LEADER, APARUP ROY has been provided and helped us with many of the informations and resources to help us out in the project. Also many of our team members are experienced in doing research and they have achieved various certificates claiming that they published research papers in various journals so this all are the achievements that the team members in this team have.

How I Used Space Agency Data in This Project

As our project is based on the comparative study and analysis of the current NO2 and CO2 concentration in the atmosphere of Europe and USA it’s obvious that we need the most accurate data, so to get the highest accuracy we used the EO (Earth Observation) Satellite live images to get the information for our project. We consider that the satellite in orbit will give use a clear look at the information we need to complete our project. As per as our knowledge we are aware that there are more than 150 EO Satellites in Earth’s Orbit.
