Multi-Mission Earth Observation Data Visualization

The EO Dashboard is derived from a suite of different satellites from the EO observation (EO) programs of the three collaborating space agencies: NASA, ESA, and JAXA. Your challenge is to devise a way to visually fuse information from diverse Earth observation datasets of different missions.

Warning about the expansion of man-made artificial magnetic fields and their destructive impacts .

Summary

We are hypothesizing that, in industrial areas where artificial magnetic fields are induced (e.g. places where electric motors are in use), the trend of changes in the intensity of the magnetic field (direct effect) lead to several adverse environmental effects( its direct& indirect effects) on climate change, and it impacts the health of living organisms and life on Earth in general.Hence, we aim to verify and finally generalize such resolutions to the whole planet. Most importantly, we would like to answer the following questions.> Is our living Earth managing such disturbances caused by artificial magnetic fields, warming, and greenhouse gases? > And if it is, then how does it do that?

How I Addressed This Challenge

As we know, the Earth's magnetic field prevents the deadly penetration of cosmic rays by creating a protective belt (1, 2). Industrialization and human-generated artifact such as artificial magnetic fields (to use the generated electricity) have substantial impacts on the incomplete combustion of fuel in power plants. Hence, it can cause an increase in greenhouse gas emissions and disruption of the Earth's natural magnetic field (3, 4). Not surprisingly, human-made magnetic fields can act against the Earths'. The latter leads to a decrease in the Earth's magnetic field strength at those points. Hence, it provides the ground for greater penetration of cosmic rays (5, 6), and causes changes in precipitation. In addition, an increasing number of neurological diseases, changes in water quality and disturbance in the navigation of birds and aquatic animals, partial discharge of fog particles in the clouds, and the growth of plants and agriculture may be visible in and around such areas (8.) Moreover, the thermal effects of fluid currents adjacent to artificial magnetic fields, and increasing greenhouse gas emissions of magnetic fields in fossil fuel-powered power plants release heat. Therefore, it increases temperature that also causes other adverse effects on the climate.

We know that the action of two electric fields (e.g Two positive and negative charges) on one another forms a magnetic field.

The three assumptions:

1- Interference of two non-directional force (artificial magnetic fields)

2- Heat weakens the magnetic field.

3- An area with a lot of electric motors (e.g industrial factory) may act as a plate that includes an infinite number of current-carrying wires. They form an artificial magnetic field at the point where the two fields (generated magnetic field and Earth magnetic field) do not coincide.

our view, these artificial magnetic fields have several impacts on the life cycle of plant and animal species. Reduction or increase in some human nervous system diseases such as MS (i.e under the influence of solar wind currents) is possible. Such changes can also create disorder, and imbalance in the uniform flow of the ecosystem. Excessive heat or cold, floods, and/or droughts are some examples of possible consequences, which are the main cause of global crises such as food shortages, agricultural problems, floods, and hurricanes.

Since these crises increase damages to various infrastructure, and human resources as well as welfare, eventually it increases governments' expenses.

We expect to show what is it that we need to pay more attention to. The main sources of artificial magnetic field production are electric motors, and by optimizing their operation, we can manage the impact of millions of devices around the world. Hence, we can reduce the destructive effects of their magnetic field to make the desired changes in our lives.

We seek to answer questions like:

Should we take a fresh look at the technology used in electric motors?

How can we create an artificial magnetic field that controls the decreasing slope of the magnetic field?

We raise the question that it is worthwhile to do more studies to obtain important outputs in both the environment and the technology after obtaining more accurate information.

We are aiming to bring awareness toward industrial-induced artificial electromagnetic fields and their impact on our environment. We believe optimizing rotating equipment, especially large-scale electric motors, may decrease their ever-increasing impact on humans lives, climate, greenhouse gases, and life on the earth.

How I Developed This Project

In addition to the importance of preserving the environment and trying to create a pollution-free world for our children, another reason has been influential. We believe that the slope of knowledge production has decreased over the last century, and humans have fallen on the rails of using technology, which has reduced their focus and insight into the issues around them, whether in the family environment, in the community or in the world. This time we wanted to focus our philosophical analysis and our in-depth arguments and perspectives on the threats to our planet, on reinforced human axes, and make the most of the enormous power of our brains.

Our approach has focused on examining changes in the magnetic field strength of an industrial plant due to the operation of rotating equipment, especially large-scale electric motors, and its changes to other parameters.

Like a copper-producing industrial complex like Sarcheshmeh Copper with 12,000 electric motors that all magnetic fields by default, we considered a man-made artificial field. Then the changes that result from the interaction of the function of this artificial magnetic field on the Earth's magnetic field and its effects on environmental aspects, human health, climate, temperature changes, and the density of flora and fauna in the region before and after its establishment. We considered.

Because it was not possible to examine the details of these changes due to the low accuracy of the data, we only examined the process of changes and used the reasoning and power of our brains for other effects and postponed other details to give more opportunity for further investigation by the judges of this challenge.

Finally, examining the parameters that could be made available led us to a practical way of solving a problem and asking an important question of whether Earth is alive and if it is healing itself. We concluded that developing a new manufacturing standard for devices that create artificial magnetic fields (e.g. electric motors) may lead to a healthier Earth.

Use of NASA satellite data and meteorological stations and history of magnetic field intensity and changes in air temperature and precipitation between 1992 and 2019 and even earlier for a vegetation parameter in the desired geographical coordinates along with the total power consumption of the source copper plant Extracted from the energy balance of the Ministry of Energy as the main data of the project.

With Microsoft Office software, data were tabulated and charts were extracted, and graphic work was done by Illustrator software.

One of our main problems was the data extracted for the magnetic field strength of the target geographical coordinates, while we needed higher accuracy to show the small effects of magnetic field strength due to increasing or decreasing current.

How I Used Space Agency Data in This Project

With Satellite information:

1- Satellite information of changing the magnetic value around factories

2- Satellite information of temperature change in the region

3- Satellite information change precipitation

4- Satellite information on the growth of neurological diseases

5- Satellite information on increasing the penetration of galactic rays

6- Satellite information on greenhouse gas changes

We then found similar patterns in data changes.

We observed that similar patterns are created by changes in the artificial magnetic field at the target coordinates.

In this project, we observed that the magnitude of the magnetic field decreased and continued to decrease. The average temperature increased and the average rainfall in the region and vegetation density decreased.

Therefore, we can conclude that any external magnetic field other than the Earth's natural magnetic field, including the artificial magnetic fields generated by electromotors, which are widely distributed on the Earth's surface and millions of devices are being produced annually, interfere with the field. Will become the main magnet.

As a result of this interference, heat is also generated. Unfortunately, this problem persists as humans constantly maintain the production of artificial magnetic fields and their expansion.

Comparing images from the years, 1972, 1986, 2000, and 2013 from the Landsat 8 satellite, the MSS sensor, and the Landsat 7 satellite, which is equipped with a sensor called the ETM, and the Spot 1 satellite, we observed that the vegetation has decreased drastically.

Examining the trend of changes in each of the above parameters will help to understand the current situation.

Unfortunately, we did not have data on changes in the direction of birds and the spread of neurological disease, and increased penetration of galactic radiation for the target coordinates.

Earth Observing Dashboard Integration

Proposal:

We are suggesting adding extra parameters/layers to the dashboard where one layer should show " The changes in the intensity of Earth's magnetic field at the point of its intersection with existing artificial magnetic fields". Hence, other parameters/layers can represent how such changes may affect them. This relates to our earlier claim that the Earth's magnetic field has an inevitable role in water quality, air quality, humidity, plants' life, animals’ life, humans' life, greenhouse gasses, etc. Therefore, we may use the benefit from studying such changes in understanding our planet Earth. In addition, we are introducing a second layer for the EO dashboard that shows the " Data (quantitative as well as qualitative measures) associated with existing and newly manufactured electromotors" (It is important to note that electro motors are one of the most related products responsible for artificial magnetic fields. Every year, more than hundreds of thousands of such devices are added to our planet).

These two layers can help us understand the direct as well as the indirect potential impact of growing artificial magnetic fields on the followings:

1- Changes in human neurological disease.

2- Changes in animals' life ecosystems,

3- Changes vegetation dispersal,

4- Changes in physical and chemical properties of the water,

5- Changes in temperature,

6- Changes in humidity,

7- Changes in direction of birds' migration,

8- Changes in the release of greenhouse gases,

9- Changes in the amount of penetrating Cosmic-ray

Conclusion:

In our view, one of the ways to reduce the effects of artificial magnetic fields is the management of electric motors.

By developing new standards for the construction of electric motors, and improving their efficiency, operation, as well as networking electric motors, we can reduce the destructive effects of climate change.

The Last words:

Perhaps our living Earth prefers to keep itself hot to attenuate the impact of artificial magnetic fields.

For Vegetation :

To obtain the relationship between vegetation and mining, three periods are selected so that we can understand the relationships over the past years. First, geometric corrections were used on the images, and then the pixel sizes of the images were divided equally. From the images in the period of 1986, 2000, and 2013, 2014, vegetation index NDVI is done on the images. Consequently, the color combination of the 3 vegetation indicators showed that the vegetation in 1986 was much higher than in 2014. This reduction in vegetation is visible in the northern areas of the Sarcheshmeh copper mine, where the sediment dam is located. In this representation, the vegetation related to 1986 can be seen in green.
