Spatial Analysis and Time Series

The EO Dashboard has multiple global maps for air quality and greenhouse gases in GeoTIFF file format. Your challenge is to create a spatial analysis and time series plotting tool for EO Dashboard air quality and greenhouse gas GeoTIFF datasets.

NASA CO2 AVG APP

Summary

This app is created for users that want to grasp the CO2 emissions average during 2020.

How I Addressed This Challenge

What did you develop?

I developed an Android app.

Why is it important?

The app can motivate users to change their behaviors and reduce CO2 emissions.

What does it do?

Users have a clear picture regarding the CO2 emissions during the year 2020.

How does it work?

This application is very easy to install!

Go to Google Play and install the Expo app.

Open the Expo app on your Android device and scan this QR code:

What do you hope to achieve?

A change in human behaviors and a decrease in CO2 emissions.

How I Developed This Project

What inspired your team to choose this challenge?

The value of CO2 never been higher than 400 PPM. We have to stop the pollution of Earth asap!

What was your approach to developing this project?

I used the data provided by the NASA and implemented it in the Android App.

What tools, coding languages, hardware, software did you use to develop your project?

I used Visual Studio Code to develop an Expo application for Android.

The coding language used by React Native is JavaScript.

What problems and achievements did your team have?

There were no problems!

How I Used Space Agency Data in This Project

I found very useful the data found at this link:

https://earthdata.nasa.gov/covid19/explore/global?map=-47.1719%2C45.7062%2C1&layers=co2&date=2020-12-15&lState=co2%7C0%7C50

I used the CO2 AVG filter to obtain screenshots on CO2 average emissions, and I've implemented these screenshots in the app.
