Storytelling in the COVID-19 Era

The longer human activities are changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the more visible, wider, and longer lasting the scope of environmental impacts may be. Your challenge is to tell a visual story about the impacts of the pandemic using Earth observation data and other complementary information.

The silent killer

Summary

Our project is talking about covid-19. the covid-19 beginning was in Wuhan city in china and some Perspectives say that the virus came from bats and another say from octopus but we found the true information after a lot of searches and we also show its negative and positive impacts on industry and agriculture. we made a video and story explain these topics.

How I Addressed This Challenge

The challenge says that we should make a story which talks about covide-19 and its effects on the industry and agriculture. Our story contains the state of the world and the state of the Covid-19 virus from its appearance in the twentieth century until now and also includes the positive and negative effects of covid-19.

And like any project, you should start with searching. A lot of researches has been done to get the information to write the story. After that, the story was started as a lot of random wards, Next, these words were developed into a small story, and this small story was developed until it became a small good story, after that, it was put under a discussion to develop until it became a good long story, but it still put under the case of a discussion until it became the perfect long story, also it was made as a video. The story is important because before finding a solution to any tubule you should know the dimensions of this tubule and the story is a summary of the covide-19 problem. when this story was written we were hoping to make the way of understanding the covid-19 story easier for the researchers to make the way easier to stop the covid-19 pandemic and develop a vaccine for this virus.

How I Developed This Project

We chose this challenge because covid-19 is a very dangerous virus that made all the world stop working, so we are interested in this virus that's why we choose this topic to learn more about this virus and share this knowledge as a story

We made a video to explain the topics that contain the beginning of covid-19 and its impacts on industry and agriculture. When composing this story: First, we searched about covid-19 and knew about its beginning. Second, we searched about industry and agriculture impacts of covid-19.

Finally, we made a video that explains these topics.

The problem that we faced that a member of our team got sick and we have to help her when we work. we were taking care of her and at the same time, we were doing her tasks plus our original tasks. this was put a lot of stress on us in addition to the short time of the hackathon. the second problem faced us was that we choose the first challenge which needed a prototype and we searched a lot for this challenge and we made an order for the material put something went wrong with the shipping company and didn't arrive at us that why we were had to change our challenge to another one put the tuple was that the just two days to the end of the competition and one of the members of our team get sick and the challenge needed a lot of work that's why we were had to change our challenge again when there were just 30 hours for the end of the competition put we worked hard and We didn't sleep for 29 hours, and we kept working in a continuous work until we end our project in amazing quality and our achievement is that we have ended our project in a little time

How I Used Space Agency Data in This Project

After reading NASA materials about covid-19,

  1. I knew that covid-19 affected agriculture, where agricultural crops decreased and prices fell due to the closure of airports, and also influenced the industry where factories were closed and imports and exports stopped so that this virus has affected our daily lives

From this link, we knew a lot of information about covid-19 like

  1. We knew the government police responses on the traveling, testing, vaccination, face coverings, and so on
  2. We knew the number of people is being hospitalized for covid-19
  3. We knew the mortality of covid-19 and the excess mortality
  4. And knew the deaths, testing, and so onLooking at the maps, we knew the ratios between different countries in agriculture as well as the incidence of viruses in the world.

We knew that

  1. The ratios between different countries in agriculture as well as the incidence of viruses in the world.

Earth Observing Dashboard Integration

We've divided the work on all the team to do a thorough search for The covid-19, This research has been comprehensive from the beginning of the emergence of this virus in the world through the state of China, until now. This research also includes the positive and negative effects of covid-19, For example, one of the positive effects is the lack of pollution of the environment due to the interruption of the movement of cars, ships, and aircraft as a result of domestic quarantine and the closure of international airports and the negative effects in the field of agriculture is Low consumption of crops and significantly lower prices due to the closure of airports and ships so, there is no imports or exports. On the industrial side, the industrial process has been halted due to the suspension and closure of factories as a result of household quarantine and the increase in the number of injured. Our story also examines the numbers and locations of this virus in the world. Our project is comprehensive of everything that has gone through the world under this virus, making it a good simplified reference for children or young people to learn about the pandemic.
