The EO Dashboard is derived from a suite of different satellites from the EO observation (EO) programs of the three collaborating space agencies: NASA, ESA, and JAXA. Your challenge is to devise a way to visually fuse information from diverse Earth observation datasets of different missions.
Flood and drought forecasts rely on the hydrometeorological forecasts provided by ECMWF, NOAA, and other agencies. Generally, these forecasts assimilate the Aircraft Meteorological Data Relay (AMDAR) observations in their modeling system to improve their forecast skill. During the COVID-19 pandemic, these forecasts have been affected by lower data flow from AMDAR data. While a few studies have investigated this issue, however, there is more to explore in this project. The goal of this project is to analyze the effect of lower Aircraft Meteorological Data Relay (AMDAR) observations on the weather forecasts (specifically precipitation forecasts) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
