The COVID-19 pandemic is currently bringing unprecedented impacts to every aspect of human life. Your challenge is to better understand societal trends in response to COVID-19 through the analysis of remote sensing data and products.

Summary

The Covid-19 has severely impacted the Socio-Economic aspects across all continents. In this project, we seek to analyse the space data of different regions within the country and across the nations, to provide with deeper understanding of the problem considering how the human movements around economic hubs, different societal behaviours, covid and socio-economic impacts are closely interconnected.The purpose of the deep analysis would be to find possible effective solutions to formulate the policies on highest level to minimise the effect of Covid-19 on socio-economic aspects.

How I Addressed This Challenge

The Covid-19 has severely impacted the Socio-Economic aspects across all continents. In this project, we seek to analyse the space data of different regions within the country and across the nations, to provide with deeper understanding of the problem considering how the human movements around economic hubs, different societal behaviours, covid and socio-economic impacts are closely interconnected.


The purpose of the deep analysis would be to find possible effective solutions to formulate the policies on highest level to minimise the effect of Covid-19 on socio-economic aspects.

How I Developed This Project

Economy is the most important aspect to keep an individual, families to a whole nation running. Considering the multiple waves of covid-19 followed by series of lock-down across the world, impacting every aspects of our life, economic impact and urban-societal behaviours during Covid waves; and to make my contribution to help resolve the today's critical world problems as per my capacity has truly inspired me to choose this challenge.


I have basically tried to integrate the Overpass API from OpenStreetMap & geo-db_and_google_mobility_data, and other satellite data into the portal, which however would be ready to integrate into EO Dashboard.


I'm trying to use the earth observation space data to see the movement around the economic hubs and its close effect to the socio-economic behaviors.



For the tools used, I've been using Euro Data Cube Jupyter Lab as a deployed app, and other notebooks and apis in the EDC marketplace.

I have made use of apis, jupyter notebooks, Cube space platform and marketplace tool, and other data resources available in eodashboardhackathon.org site.
